Five Faves: Free iphone Apps To Simplify Your Life

maven-apps-photo

We have a brand new feature this week! It’s our five faves! Each month we’ll share with you five of our favorite things to UP the AWESOME in your life.

This week we’re talking about our five favorite free iphone apps to simplify and organize your life.

(Ps: we say iphone cause that’s what we have, but the same apps are likely available for Android and other smartphones too!)

We used to swear by writing things down by hand and carried our phone, planner, notebook and to do list everywhere. Needless to say, it can get confusing remembering to bring them all to every appointment, or we’d forget our planner and write something down in our phone calendar only to forget that we wrote it there and miss something that we’d planned on doing. Sound familiar? It’s just too many places to put your information!

In today’s Maven Minutes, we’ll help you simplify it all with some really easy to use iphone apps that will get you back on track with organizing and simplifying your life!

Do you use any of these apps already? Let us know what your favorite app is, even if it’s not for simplifying or organizing, even if it’s just for fun. We’d love to hear about it!

Aahhhh! These are great! My husband and I are always sharing lists but I tend to forget so e of the items so I am thrilled about Cozi. I discovers the Over app from you, Jen, and I have a lot of fun writing on my photos thanks to you ;)

    • Yay! Kerry! So glad you found this video helpful and that you’re going to use some these apps. You’ll love Cozi and isn’t Over the best? I’ve been having fun making pictures with text too! – Jen

Hello lovelies. You two crack me up with the end in your helium level voices and talking about “making out”. So funny!

Because I am not a Mac person (even though I really tried) I like OneNote which is the equivelent of Evernote for PC folks.

Here’s one for the iPad. Because I love handwritten notes and mindmapping without all the crazy, expensive hard to use software, I use Penultimate. You neeed a stylus for this app. But it’s fabulous and fun!

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to checking out a few of the apps you shared. I don’t need a period tracker anymore (yay), hey but maybe I need it to check out my hormonal shifts. :)

    • Ha! Thanks, Cinda! Yes, we know that not everyone uses iPhones, so thanks so much for sharing of your faves on other devices! Glad you’re going to check out these apps on your phone and let us know which ones are working for you! – Jen

Immediately downloaded Todoist while I was watching the rest of your video :) Can’t wait till I have a few minutes to transfer my 8 billion hand written notes into it! :)

    • haha! I have about 8 billion notes too! Evernote is the one where you can take pics of your hand-written notes, and you can also do voice memos and all sorts of stuff, I love it! I still reach for a pen every time I have an idea but I’ve been training myself to type it in there instead. Good luck! :) -jena

I love this new feature! I like to keep super organized so I am a huge fan of Evernote. The app AnyList is also great for list making and sharing with others. I use it to make a new list every week for grocery shopping and share it with my roommate. We both tackle the grocery isles with our phones virtually crossing items off as we go. I’m about to try the Aunt Flo app. Thanks!

  5. Julz says:

I downloaded them all of course because I believe everything both of you say and I’m sure they are amazing!! They all sound like they will improve my life! Thanks for the video. They always make me smile!

  6. Sophie says:

    Hi girls!
One app (and website) that really has helped and lowered stress in my life is mint.com, a one place for all my accounts and money! It is so easy and convenient, fast to set up and you can see everything in one place! Very useful for money-dummies like me!

I know that this post was a while back, but a friend just turned me onto this app called Happier, which is basically a gratitude journal that you can connect to your facebook so that other friends who also use the app can smile at the things you are grateful for. You can make categories, add pictures, and even set a reminder to tell you to write a post.

Share your thoughts. We want to hear from you, Mavens!
