This couldn’t be more relevant to me right now. I’m working three jobs while trying to start my own business on the side. I have zero days off and have been sinking all my money into the new biz. In short: working a ton, feeling totally burned out and like a prisoner to my schedule, and pretty broke at the same time.

I keep telling myself that this is temporary, but I’m losing steam and feel like I can’t continue any longer. I’ve been chronically sick with a sinus infection and I want my health back. Problem is, I’m not sure where to make cuts.

I just know that I’ve overbooked myself (and have totally done this in the past as well). I need to learn lessons on preventing this in the future, while quietly wrapping up someone letting go of some of my commitments.

In the video, when you talked about priorities, I thought. “Wow, I’ve created a life in which there’s no space for any of my priorities. That’s pretty incredible that I’ve been such a shit to my own needs.”

    • Eva, Oh no, I totally know where you’re at right now! I feel for you and will have to remind you, (finger wag) that taking care of yourself is #1 priority! You gotta get healthy and get downtime or it’ll be much harder to hop of that overwhelm treadmill. Good for you for realizing right where you need to shift- your priorities. That’s a great place to start. Where can you fit in 30 minutes here, 5 minutes there, to rest and take care of yourself better each day? Awareness is the first step- you’re gonna rock it from here and make some real changes! Good luck and thanks for watching and sharing! -jena

    Hi Jen and Jena!

I always love your videos and today is no different! It’s amazing how we know these strategies but completely forget to implement them.

For example, I have a ton of blog posts I need to write at the moment – some for my own blog, some as guest posts. I’d been working on getting at least two written a day. After watching your video I am going to set the rest of the day aside and batch blog. I will sit and knock those babies out :-)

    Keep up the awesome work!
    Caylie

    • Hi Caylie! Yay, thanks for watching! I know what you mean- I think we really do all know the answers deep down inside, it’s just remembering to stop long enough to hear them and then actually listening to them, that trips us up sometimes! hah. Batching your blog posts sounds like the perfect kind of shift to make to free up some time- and one I might try out, too! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and kind words! We so appreciate it. -jena

I’m making an effort to get back on track with life and this post is a great start. I can’t pick just one ‘P’ to focus on, which means I’ll start with my priorities and cut out some of my time-wasters. I’m back on the hamster wheel always busy doing something but never getting anything actually done and it’s time to put myself in check. Thank you for the awesome videos!
