We’ve been talking about loss this week because we have some friends and family that have been going through some hard things lately, and we know if they are, some of you out there may be too.
Loss comes in many forms and is something we all have to face at some point in our lives, so we offer this to you, in dedication to our friends and family, some tips on how to deal with loss and start to move through the grief.
If you’re experiencing loss right now in any form, we hope this video can be helpful to you in some way, even if it’s just to know that we understand what you’re going through and are here with open ears and hearts.
We created a worksheet to help guide you in finding ways to move through the grief- you can download it here for free.
A simple exercise can’t heal your pain, we know- but it can begin to help you process your loss and help ground you at a time when you’re probably feeling your most unbalanced.
And we referenced Susannah Conway’s book, This I Know in the video- check out her guest post for us on How to Survive the Crash after Loss.
If you’d like to share your thoughts and experiences with us, we’d love to hear in the comments below. Thanks for watching & reading!

Thank you for this video and worksheet. It’s super helpful. :)
Yay, Tammy! So glad you saw this. I’ve been thinking of you as I’ve been working on the content for this week. Take care of yourself my friend! – Jen
Thanks so much! You are sweet. And thank you for the gift. I cried when Michelle gave it to me. It was so unexpected and thoughtful. :) Let’s have a beer soon. ~Tammy
Awww, you’re sweet too, Tammy! I’m looking forward to having a beer with you. Maybe after WDS? – Jen
Hi girls, i found this through tammys link from her blog and had to comment. I recently lost my cat who was 15 and he was so special to me that i went through a severe depression. What i love about what you say is that sometimes loss is a new beginning. I never looked at this from this way, i want to thank you because in my healing, i want to have a new beginning. My cat was a stray cat who was healthy until old age. He passed away at home and i saw him breathe his last breath, it devastated me. He saved my life with his love and funny ways. I thank you for this, it did help me. Best of luck to you.
Hi Susanna, losing a pet can be so hard. Glad you found this video helpful! Wishing you lots of healing and support. – Jen
thank you so much :)
and I do have to say the little baby dog is so adorable (I love cats and dogs!), especially when he rests his little head on your chest, so cute! pets show incredible love and are so funny sometimes!!
Thanks, Susanna, that’s Cheeto. He’s about 4 years old now. My husband, son and I got him from the pound when he was about 1. He had a broken leg and pelvis when he arrived at the shelter and was put into a foster home before he was up for adoption. What’s funny is my son was fixated on getting a chihuahua, which my husband I weren’t sure about because we thought that sort of dog might not be good in a home with a child. I, on the other hand, had gotten it into my head that I really wanted a 3 legged dog, because perfection isn’t important to me. I thought 3 leggedness might be something that some people wouldn’t want in a dog, and we could rescue a little guy who might not get a home otherwise. I also liked 3 leggedness because it would be an easy disability to work around. Cheeto didn’t use his leg for about the first year or so, but now he does. It’s shorter than the rest, but he uses it, unless he’s running fast, then it just makes the motion while running in the air. This dog brings us endless joy and love. He couldn’t be more perfect for our family. – Jen
I love then name Cheeto and this inspires me! you are a kind and wonderful family to save a beautiful dog’s life and give him love and a home! I”m inspired.
