Ladies! Big huge thank you… I really needed this particular chat this morning. I get stuck on the “patience” part and I always forget to celebrate my little successes.

Getting my notebook out and watching this video again.

    Thank you again!

Joy, so glad this video was helpful. If you get a chance watch the Ira Glass on being a beginner that we posted this morning. You may have seen it before or maybe not. It’s the kind of thing that I think should be referred to any time you take on a new beginning. – Jen

Thank you for this wonderful video. It couldn’t have come at a better time for this beginner dj! Your tips and encouragement really resonated with me, making me rethink my approach to learning the mixing software i have been working/struggling with, and reminding me that “beginner” isn’t a bad word. Indeed, being willing to do something new and deal with all the emotions that come with taking on such a challenge is no small thing! Thanks again.

Laura, Here’s a couple of other thoughts on being a beginner. Beginners aren’t tied into old dogmas. They can often see the situation without the same limitations that a seasoned pro might. A beginning is a fresh piece of clay for you to mold and create into your unique style. Lots of luck, Mix Master Laura! – Jen

Thanks ladies! Happiness is growth and you get growth by learning new things and being a beginner!! I’ve always hated the “where will you be in 1, 5, 10 years” question but in the light of “where will you be if you haven’t done x, y, z that totally makes sense! Our inner voice will tell you if you’ll regret not trying something, doing something, saying something to someone. We have to listen! Thanks for the reminder!
